Synopsis

Honest Betty and glamorous Grace are both bored of retirement. In a bid to excite her old friend, Grace reveals her secret life as a shoplifter - a gesture which causes the women to quarrel. As the dust settles and Betty considers the nervous thrills of petty theft, Grace turns her attentions to a far more daring venture.

Production Details

Ladies Who Lunch was conceived by Laura at a nightclass in late 2005. The script was well received during a pitching session at the Screen Academy Scotland in November 2006, and was soon optioned by producer and director Victoria Thomas.

After receiving funding from South West Screen Commission, the piece went on to attract renowned actresses Una McLean (as Grace) and Mona Hammond (as Betty).

Ladies who Lunch was filmed at Gracefield Arts Centre and on location in Dumfries.
