Novels
Laura completed a rough draft of her first novel in 2008 for Nanowrimo. 'The Fractured Few' is a piece of speculative fiction set in Edinburgh, which she hopes to rewrite later this year.
Laura is currently working on a redraft of her second novel, 'The Hush', a WWII fantasy for children and young adults.
On Books
Laura worked at the 2009 Edinburgh International Book Festival, selling books and talking to celebrity types in the Book Signing tent. It was a staggeringly enjoyable experience, and she hopes to be on the other side of the signing table soon.
In autumn and winter 2009, Laura is studying Dark Fairy Tales at Edinburgh University - learning about the shared roots and meanings of the stories. She hopes to apply this knowledge to her fiction writing in the near future.
Laura volunteers in a second hand bookshop as often as she can. It is a hazard to her purse strings, but great fun.
